Membership Types
There are five types of CANAR memberships. These include Institutional, Individual, Associate, Student, and Consumer or Family Member categories. All members must support the mission statement of the CANAR and its constituencies. Memberships are described below:
Institutional Membership: Institutional Memberships: Institutional members have one vote
Individual Membership: An individual whose organization meets the criteria for institutional memberships, but the institution or agency of which he/she is a member is not an institutional member of CANAR, may apply for an Individual Membership (non-voting status).
Associate Membership: Associate Membership in the CANAR is open to any person interested in rehabilitation to Native American persons or whose primary work is in this area. These individuals may apply with approval from the membership committee. Memberships in the category shall not be attained through individual or institutional membership as specified above (non-voting status).
Student Membership: Full-time students are eligible for membership similar to associate standing. The students program coordinator or advisor shall recommend student's for membership. These individuals must be registered as full-time students in rehabilitation training, research or education programs, and their immediate and primary career goal is in vocational rehabilitation. These persons may apply with approval from the membership committee (non-voting status).
Consumer or Family Member Membership: Consumers or a family member of a consumer are eligilble for membership in the CANAR. These individuals may apply with approval from the membership committee (non-voting status).
