Conference Presentation Proposals

The Conference Planning Committee invites the submission of presentation proposals that support and highlight the conference theme: “Honoring Our Wisdom Keepers."

Honoring Our Wisdom Keepers is the theme of this conference.  As Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation has faced much change in the recent past, it is important that we take time to focus on the wisdom we have gained while on this journey and honor those wisdom keepers among us.  Native people have always been and will continue to be very keenly aware of the importance of seeking wisdom from those who have walked before them.  It is important that we celebrate this fact in our work of assisting the American Indians with disabilities we serve.

The Conference will also showcase models and strategies to improve and expand tribal VR practices; exchange of ideas to design and enhance the provision of culturally appropriate VR services for consumers residing on or near tribal lands, and presentations on techniques to enhance the skills and competencies of project administrators, counselors, and support staff.

The Conference Planning Committee highly encourages Tribal VR staff to share best practices in the form of conference presentations.  The conference registration fees are waived for Tribal VR staff who are selected to present during the conference.  Presentation Proposal Forms must be submitted online by September 1, 2014.   For more specific information or to submit a presentation proposal, please visit the Request for Proposals website.
