CANAR’s Leadership Team is excited to announce that registration is NOW OPEN for the 2015 CANAR Mid-year Conference which will be held in sunny Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on May 4 - 7, 2015. Temperatures average 78º F during the first week of May in Myrtle Beach.
This year’s mid-year conference will be hosted by the Lumbee Tribe.
The theme of the mid-year conference is “We are CANAR—When Buffalo Shook the Earth.”
Act now to receive the early registration fee of $350. Special Rate for TVR consumers is $100.
The Conference is an excellent opportunity to meet and greet others involved in vocational rehabilitation services from various parts of the United States. Representatives from the 85 Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Programs, American Indians and Alaska Natives with disabilities, state vocational rehabilitation agencies, client assistance programs, tribal government leaders and program administrators, educators, researchers and professionals involved in vocational rehabilitation services will gather to learn ways to provide better services to clients.
The mid-year conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach, located at 9800 Queensway Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Please ask for the conference block under the CANAR name to receive the discounted conference rates. The CANAR rate is $179 per night. The hotel will extend the conference rate for 3 days prior to and 3 days following the conference, based on availability. The conference kick-off on Tuesday, May 5 and will conclude on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
The TVR CIRCLE will also be offering a FREE one day pre-conference event on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 9am—4pm. More specific information about the TVR CIRCLE Training will be available. Organizations, companies and individuals seeking to reach an American Indian audience are encouraged to become vendors at the 2015 CANAR Mid-Year Conference.
Note: American Indian artists are to sell only "American Indian-made" art, such as paintings, bead work, baskets and jewelry. CANAR will comply with federal laws relating to the selling of authenic American Indian art and crafts.
Cost for a vendor space is $100 ($150, if electricity is needed).
