June is one of the most popular months to visit Montana partially due to the beautiful weather.  The average temperature in June is 74 degrees!  For this reason, it is highly advised that you make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.  The conference hotels only have limited space and they will fill up quickly.  For more specific information about the conference hotels, please click on the Conference Hotel Information link below.

The host tribes are working hard on creating an exceptional experience for conference attendees that includes a Pow-Wow and traditional meal (including buffalo and fry bread!) during the CANAR Banquet.  They also have several optional events in the works that will allow conference attendees the opportunity to experience the beauty and grandeur  of Montana.  Examples include a river ride and a visit to one of the buffalo ranges nearby.  Specific information about these and other optional events will be posted on the conference website as details become available.

Due to the overwhelming positive response we received regarding having the conference on weekdays, we will continue by having this conference on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  The TVR CIRCLE will also be offering a FREE one day pre-conference event on Tuesday, June 18th from 9AM - 4PM that will focus on VR 101, grant management practices, appropriate fiscal management techniques, case management strategies, etc.  For more specific information about dates and times of specific conference events, please click on the Conference Agenda At a Glance link below.

The Conference Planning Committee is currently accepting presentation proposals that support and highlight the Conference theme: “Strengthening Native American Rehabilitation with Traditional Values.” The goal of the Conference is to present information which will expand knowledge and options for Native Americans with disabilities.   The Conference will also showcase models and strategies that improve and expand tribal VR practices through an exchange of ideas and designs that enhances the provision of culturally appropriate VR services for consumers residing on or near tribal lands.  The Conference Planning Committee highly encourages Tribal VR staff to share best practices in the form of conference presentations.  The conference registration fees are waived for Tribal VR staff who are selected to present during the conference.  Presentation Proposal Forms must be submitted by April 15, 2012. For more specific information about the call for presentation proposals, please click on the Call for Presentation Proposals Form link below.
