"Assisting American Indians, Alaska Natives, and minority entities to develop and maintain culturally appropriate vocational rehabilitation programs"
The goal of the CBAIP is to provide national outreach, capacity building, technical assistance (TA), and training to American Indians, Alaska Natives and minority entities to enhance their capacity and to increase their participation in activities funded under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (the Act), including TA to first-time recipients of grants funded under the Act to increase their ability to successfully carry out their grants.
Objective I: Provide three national grant writing workshops per year on Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) discretionary grant programs and provide follow-up TA to tribal VR grant writing staff/team through teleconference, e-mail, fax and personal consultations in finalizing tribal VR proposals.
Objective II: Provide outreach, TA and training to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and minority entities that are first time recipients of RSA and NIDRR discretionary grants, and staff members of existing tribal VR grants to increase their ability to implement and manage their grants.
